Q-mate since 2014-ish
What quality do you most value in your teammates?
Honesty, collaboration and a get’er-done-problem-solving-creative-thinking mindset.
Why Quarry for you?
I first came across Quarry when I was in university. My impression, even then, was that Quarry was a marketing firm unlike others. It seemed to truly value thinking differently, learning, questioning and genuine curiosity. Those ideals seemed to be incorporated into the very fabric or culture of the organization and the people I met and interacted with.
Today, almost 15 years later, my earliest impressions have been confirmed. Quarry is all those things and more. The people at Quarry form not only a great team, but an extended family of sorts where each person is valued and accepted for who they are and the skills and experiences they bring. Package all that up and you’ve got one heck of a great place to work… and a team that delivers projects that almost always exceed customer expectations.
Would you rather go into outer space or to the depths of the ocean?
Probably I’d choose outer space because I’ve already been to the depths of the ocean, or at least in part when I’ve been SCUBA diving. I’d choose outer space for three reasons that both intrigue and scare me: (1) wide open expanses of space—where the depths of the ocean feels a little suffocating or confining, outer space seems limitless, (2) an entirely different perspective—I’d love to see what our world looks like from out there, and (3) to go where few have gone before—again, feels like depths of the ocean is a path more easily travelled, but outer space? C’mon, who wouldn’t want to do that?!
What is the last book you read and would you recommend it?
It might have been the Divergent series by Veronica Roth, on the heels of The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I read them to keep up with the books my nieces are reading. Gotta stay hip to what the tweens/teens are up to so I can be the cool aunt (and to know if it’s a book my daughter is ready for). Recommend it? Sure.
