As Quarry’s President and Chief Operating Officer, Ken drives us to achieve our vision of becoming the best integrated communications organization in the galaxy. A lofty ambition, no doubt. But Ken brings a pragmatist’s touch.
“By living our mission each and every day, we can achieve that vision,” says Ken. The mission? To help our clients build their business through customer experience integration. He believes that, “if we can accomplish this while having fun, we’ll be successful. And so will our clients.”
When it comes to making decisions, Ken believes the Quarry values of Integrity, Relevance, and Achievement are the best guides. “They keep us true to ourselves and to the future we want to create for the organization.”
Within the industry, Ken is one of Quarry’s representatives in the Trans Canada Advertising Agency Network (TCAAN), as well as ICOM — the leading international network of independent advertising agencies.
Ken also sits on the Board of Directors for the Waterloo-Wellington Local Health Integrated Network, one of 14 LHINs set up across the province of Ontario to bring health care leadership, integration, and funding to a local level.
Before joining Quarry in 1990, Ken worked at London Life Insurance Company for eight years, managing their internal communications agency and helping launch, and build, their landmark Freedom 55 brand. Prior to that, he was with Canada Trust’s marketing department as part of the team that built the “8 to 8, Six Days Straight” brand. It was there that he met his friend and future business partner, Alan Quarry.
Ken holds a BBA (Honors) from Wilfrid Laurier University, is a father to seven, and feels he is “truly blessed by having met and married his soul mate, Colette.”
