Digital Project Manager

We're looking to add another Digital Project Manager to our team.

Required Skills:

• ideally, you have 4+ years of managing Web development projects
• defining and managing project scope
• using common project management tools such as work breakdown structures, Gantt charts, network diagrams, and earned value analysis
• team player
• effective communication skills
• ability to work with external clients and internal teams – keeping both informed, motivated and happy

Flash Developer/Designer

Required Skills:

• 4+ years of professional experience in Flash Development.
• Solid experience with ActionScript 3.0 (AS3) & ActionScript 2.0 (AS2) combined with a great eye for animation.
• Experience in building dynamic, interactive web applications with Flash, Flex and AS3.
• Proven experience with integrating Flash and AS3 with PHP/MySQL databases and content management systems (CMS).
• Ability to plan and architect complex Flash-based applications and web sites.
• Dedication to quality of execution and attention to detail is a must.
• Understanding of CSS, JavaScript, HTML, and XML.
• Experience with integrating sound and video.
• Experience with Papervision, Flash/Flex Builder, After Effects, and debugging/profiling tools.
• Game development experience is a plus.
• Excellent documentation, multi-tasking and organizational skills.
• Ability to lead a project and communicate effectively in a team environment and with our international teams under minimal supervision.

Web UI Designer

We are looking for an experienced Web user Interface Designer in our Waterloo office to contribute to client projects.

Activities include:

• Applying principles of interaction design to the creation of client web sites
• Designing UI architecture, behavior, and web page layout
• Conducting contextual research for user and task analysis
• Developing user profiles, scenarios and use cases
• Constructing prototypes and writing design specifications
• Designing and facilitating usability tests and other assessment activities
• These activities will occur primarily for websites and web applications, though assistance may be needed from time to time in designing desktop applications. You will work closely with Quarry's interaction design, creative arts, development, and project management professionals - collaborating first-hand with clients to produce effective designs on time and on budget.

Skills required:

• Demonstrated design ability with 3-5 years experience
• Solid understanding of UI design principles and user-centered design methodologies
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Familiarity with formal and informal usability assessment practices
• Hardworking, flexible, and effective in multi-disciplinary teams

Technical skills:

• Experience with Illustrator, Photoshop, Fireworks, Visio, and similar tools is required.
• Programming experience with HTML and Flash would be an asset.

Copywriter

We are looking for a creative and skilled copywriter to add to our Writing Services team in Waterloo. We also welcome resumes from freelancers with targeted skill sets for occasional support.

You:

• Are a fountain of "big ideas" - but you also enjoy digging in to the little details
• Have experience in writing for digital channels, including websites, social media applications and online advertising
• Know how to walk the tightrope between brand advertising (to build relationships) and demand generation activities (for immediate returns)
• Offer a portfolio that demonstrates your creative abilities and writing craftsmanship
• Are hardworking, enthusiastic, collaborative and deadline-driven
• Juggle multiple projects and work quickly, when required

Bonus points for:

• Bilingualism
• Professional writing/Communications/English Degree or Diploma, or equivalent
• Specific experience in the high tech, healthcare or agri-food industries
• BtoB or considered-purchase experience
